NOTE: If you are interested in becoming an Order Builder volunteer, please register for "First Time Order Builder Training". Once you have completed the training session, you may register for regular order building shifts.
As an Order Builder, you will get boxes of food bags ready to send out on our trucks to our partner schools! A single order could be just a few boxes, or more than 100. We deliver to over 400 sites every month. Order Builders use hand held scanners to read and pick orders, placing boxes of food bags onto pallets or carts to be delivered by Every Meal drivers.
- This requires standing, bending and lifting 30 lbs+ boxes repeatedly.
- The warehouse environment can be loud at times
- Volunteers should be able to work with a small group (1-3 people) and independently.
- Must wear closed-toe shoes
- Must be at least 18 years old and above
- Order Building volunteers who would like to operate the electric pallet jack (not required for this volunteer opportunity) must be trained and certified by Every Meal staff
Time Commitment: We ask that Order Builder volunteers sign up for a minimum of 1-2 shifts a month to keep up with the orders. If you have questions please email: volunteer@everymeal.org
